Enjoying the Ride
The Divide Blog: November 10, 2014
By Jana Brown, screenwriter, The Divide
The closer we get to the end of our Kickstarter campaign, the greater the reality of this project becomes.
When Perry and I first started working together, it felt like a fun exercise, something we both enjoyed with no solid idea of where it would lead. Suddenly, I am in the middle of the sidewalk in downtown Concord, N.H., being flagged by a friend or acquaintance and asked about how The Divide is going. Our local newspapers are following the story. I am getting e-mails and texts and Facebook messages from friends I have known at different points in my life, celebrating this news and wishing us the best for the movie, pledging support – financial or otherwise – and generally showing enthusiasm for something I conceived and wrote with a friend that is now growing arms and legs and momentum.
How wonderful this all is, to have started with a creative spark and now to see how far we’ve come already. I can’t wait to see what the next weeks and months (and year) will bring. I feel so fortunate to have the good vibes of so many out there and to be on this journey with Perry and our friend, Russ.
